New Zealand Apples

Kanzi

Kanzi is not just any apple, it is an apple of quality. The luxurious appearance is an alluring promise of the crunchy bite and deliciously well-balanced sweet and tart flavour. The taste derives from a unique blend of a juicy Gala and a tangy, sweet Braeburn, grown in specially selected orchards.

Granny Smit

Granny Smith is a striking, distinctively bright green apple with a refreshing, tangy-tart taste. Its bright white flesh is crisp, moderately juicy and resists browning when sliced.

Royal Gala

Originating in New Zealand, Royal Gala apples have a bold, red striped appearance over a creamy yellow background. They are crisp, with a subtle, sweet taste and firm white flesh.

NZ Queen

A New Zealand exclusive apple, 80% of NZ Queen’s production is grown in the hawkes Bay region of New Zealand. NZ Queen is a bi-coloured apple with a stunning deep red skin colour. They are very crisp and juicy, with a sweet taste and clean white flesh.

NZ Rose

Developed in New Zealand, NZ Rose tends to produce a larger sized apple. It has a rosy pink to red blush over a yellow background. It has creamy coloured, firm flesh and is very crisp, sweet and juicy.

NEW ZEALAND’S CLIMATE ADVANTAGE

New Zealand has the perfect climate for growing apples. Our island nation receives high levels of sunshine and has a more moderate climate than continental countries because we’re surrounded by the cool Pacific Ocean. This means our summers are warm and winters mild, which is just how apples like it.

FUTURE THINKERS

The New Zealand apple industry is full of smart, innovative minds who are constantly looking to create new and more delicious apple varieties, more effective and safer methods of pest control and smarter pack house technology that ensures we can offer the world’s consumers the most consistent quality, the safest and tastiest fruit around.

APPLES FOR THE WORLD

New Zealand apples are appreciated around the world for their beauty, excellent flavour, crisp texture and minimal residues.  Different cultures have slightly different apple preferences, so New Zealand exporters have developed different varieties for consumers in the various markets of North America, Asia and Europe.

CULTIVATING CAREERS

Young New Zealanders join the apple industry for rewarding careers from almost every background. Some come straight from school and work their way up through the orchard management and packhouse system. Others join us from university after studying science, horticulture or commerce.
